Companies and Brands ... Continue Stepping Up

We have feared that this would happen and we did get a warning … but here we are now in a post-Roe world. A world until honestly only the past few years did I ever imagine. I essentially grew up in a world where abortion is healthcare and everyone has access to it. Yesterday we all suddenly “grew up” in a very different place. A very scary place with sadly more scary stuff to come.

So as a marketer, I am honored and humbled and inspired to see companies and brands stepping up to help. Helping to fight this new scary world. They are stepping up to help their constituents in time of need. And many certainly need help to access healthcare. Care that should be readily available to them.

One example: while many companies have already announced that they will cover travel costs for employees who need to go to another state for healthcare, the CEO of DICK’S Sporting Goods reiterated that commitment yesterday. You can see it by clicking here. Many others did as well, I merely point out DICK’S as a shining example. I also love the sentiment and messaging that we can all get behind. And by the way, this same CEO and company is taking gun reform seriously as well.

Companies and brands: it’s time to continue stepping up. Even more, even harder. It is our job to protect the communities we serve including the people we employ and the partners we rely upon. They are expecting it of us, hoping for it from us. Needing it from us. We have a lot of power and resources, and that can all be put to good use. I want to help … let me know if I can help.

Continue stepping up and soon there won’t be a post-Roe world.
