Apple's "Saving Simon"

Every week in my marketing class at NYU I have each student submit a piece of marketing that they discovered during the week … they submit it and then present it in class. It’s a great way to learn from each other and to see what’s happening in the marketplace. Great fun!

One student this week submitted a film from Apple that the brand launched for this past holiday season. Not sure how I missed it! I was done by Oscar nominee Jason Reitman and his dad, which is very cool. All shot on an iPhone of course. It’s a moving tale of loyalty, friendship, family, and taking care of each other. Likely the attributes that Apple wants folks to link to its brand.

One of many films done via the brand’s “Shot on iPhone” series, and one of the better ones to my eye. Moving. Makes you feel something special about the brand and how important it is in our lives. Just what you’d want a piece of branded film to do.
