Taco Bell's New “Chief Impact Officer”

We have seen brands hire quite a few celebrity Chief Creative Officers in our times … high profile influencers who essentially inspire great ideas for brands/companies. But to my eye, when Taco Bell announced yesterday that Lil Nas X will be its Chief Impact Officer, I noticed a shift in these roles. It’s not about creativity, but about impact. And there it was, written right in the press release … Lil Nas X will "collaborate with the brand experience from the inside out."

The brand experience! Inside and out.

Of course this also includes a collaboration on his new album about to be released titled “Montero.” Timing is everything.

The best part … at one point in his life Lil Nas X actually worked at a Taco Bell. So he does know the company from the inside. And he’s lived the employee experience which the company also referenced will be a part of his work.

Smart. Authentic. Hopefully designed to be impactful, as it states right there in his title.

What’s your experience? JIM
