Gap "Stand United"

“We stand strongest when we stand together.”

Indeed. That’s the opening line on Gap.com right now, where the brand’s new campaign “Stand United” is featured. The campaign seeks to bring us all together, at a time when we all need to be together. Indeed.

The campaign is linked to efforts to get people to vote in the US election this year, including partnerships with Rock the Vote and When We All Vote. Stand United is also supporting Black Lives Matter as the brand declares, “Together we will bridge the gap.”

Hey, it’s Gap so of course the campaign also includes a Gap Collective t-shirt collection titled “Stand United and Vote” designed by a member of Gap’s African American Networking Group, Stephennie Factor. Now that’s cool!

We have not heard from Gap for quite awhile yet its 50-year heritage is certainly strong, so it’s great to see the brand come alive again. Especially in such a relevant way. Sure, this campaign is certainly not the first of its kind and Gap is certainly not the first brand to support voting … but it’s refreshing to see a brand leverage come back to take a stand and to take action and to be so inclusive … inspiring people to come together and to vote.
