"Wear a Mask Campaigns" from CNN and BK

We’ve been seeing a number of “wear a mask” initiatives coming from brands, one notable one coming from the State of New York in the US via Governor Cuomo. That campaign was crowd-sourced and voted to select an ultimate winning campaign that ran throughout the state. Makes a ton of sense for the citizens of New York State and New York City.

There’s two new campaigns that I’d like to point out from perhaps unlikely sources … aka not the government.

CNN: The cable news network released a “wear a mask” campaign last week featuring masks of different personal statements, stating that wearing a mask says a lot about a person. As does not wearing a mask. Perhaps a surprisingly direct and directed statement from a news organization but perhaps one that will spark action …

BK: from news to burgers, Burger King launched a new mask initiative where when you place your order via Facebook or Instagram with BK, you receive a mask with your order printed on it. So when you go pick it up, your request/order is right there on your face! Pretty clever!

Wearing masks is here to stay, at least for the foreseeable future. It’ll be interesting to watch other brands create their own initiative. I personally just bought some masks from my favorite local restaurant, branded with their own brand mascot. Trying to show support for my local small business too!

What’s your experience? JIM
