Heinz Breakfast Ketchup, Finally
Source: Heinz
Heinz has finally resolved an age-old debate … is it ok to use ketchum for breakfast, I guess specifically with eggs and maybe breakfast potatoes?
I can say personally that even in my family this is a problem because my husband is a big NO and our son is a big YES. It’s been a debate for years in our household with very strong opinions on both sides. We are evidently not alone.
Well now we all know, with the introduction of Heinz Breakfast Ketchum. It’s actually the same formula, just in a new package to give permission to those who love it as a breakfast condiment. Go ahead and pour!
Since breakfast ketchup seems to be a diner staple, the launch is limited to Waffle House locations in the U.S. as well as local diners in Florida, Dallas, New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles (some of the best diner markets IMHO), where there is also some out-of-home advertising to promote the usage occasion.

How fun, right?!? And very Heinz, which makes it all that much more special. I love a good brand cultural debate and I love when a brand owns it and solves for it, as only a brand can do.
Does your brand have a debate it can solve? What’s your experience? JIM
