Balenciaga Fall26 Brings Us “A NY Minute”

Balenciaga gets New York, and New York gets Balenciaga.

As a New Yorker, I live for it when a brand makes the city a character in its marketing. "Sex in the City" proved it when the city itself became one of the main characters in the iconic television series.

So of course, Balenciaga's new Fall 2026 fashion campaign was made for me so here I am writing about it.

The campaign is a collaboration with director Celine Song and actress Sarah Pidgeon comprising three short films. Each one is called "A New York Minute" which is just the perfect title because it captures exactly what this city is: fast, relentless, and somewhat unforgiving.

The films follow everyday New York life. Real New York life, dressed in Balenciaga.

Ironically, Balenciaga isn’t from New York, but fashion is. The city moves at the speed of fashion, so when Balenciaga stakes a claim in New York, it is home for the brand.

What gets me is how Celine Song wove the clothes into the fabric of the city. The Balenciaga pieces are the New York life. Seamless. Like they were always there, meant to be there.

Perfection in brand storytelling.
