Haagen Dazs for International Women's Day

In honor of International Women’s Day this year, Haagen Dazs went back to its roots to honor its female founder who’s legacy has often been unknown. Rose Mattus founded the company in 1960, but it’s often been her husband who is more well known for inventing the flavors through the years.

Evidently, Rose’s favorite flavor was vanilla, so in her honor the brand is renaming the flavor “Founder’s Favorite,” updating the packaging to showcase her, and giving away free scoops of the ice cream all over the world.

What a great way to honor the woman who started it all … and by “all” I mean the notion of a premium ice cream which to my eye started with her. At least to my eye.

Thank you Rose! Happy International Women’s Day … what’s your experience? JIM
