"Stranger Things" - The Experience

There is no doubt that the Netflix sensation “Stranger Things” has been a phenomenal success … one of Netflix’s first and some say has contributed to the existence of Netflix. If you’ve followed the show’s trajectory, then you can see how it helped to build the the Netflix brand.

After just finishing season four to much fanfare, the show decided to continue its engagement with its fan base with a completely immersive physical experience in key cities around the U.S.

Yes a great way to continue fan experience. But also a great way to bridge to the next season which will understandable be a bit of time before we see it stream again. And also a great way to feed content into the digital and social space, keeping the show alive even more. Like this fan video …

Not the first show to ever build an experience for sure, but I would say this one level’s up the engagement even further than ones that came before it. Isn’t that what marketing is about … constantly improving upon one another?
