Target Funds Vaccine Access

Target may not be the first but it’s surely to be one of the firsts of many more in its efforts to support access to COVID-19 vaccines. The company is donating a reported $5million in various ways with priorities given to under-served populations.

For example, $1million is going to the Lyft partnership with Anthem, United Healthcare, and JPMorgan Chase to donate rides to folks who may have trouble getting to a vaccination site. That in addition to funding rides for all of their employees as well.

This is just one of many ways we are seeing brands step up and be a part of the community and the community solution to get to herd immunity that will get everyone to safety. You may ask, “What’s the vested interest for Target to support vaccinations?” Well, first of all employee safety is essential to their operations. As is a healthy community that can access their business. So yes, the brand has a vested interest but it also has a responsibility to give back. Which is exactly what it is doing.
