Introducing ... Meta

Big announcement from Facebook today. Actually from corporate Facebook company not so much Facebook itself. The corporate name will now be Meta, to denote the evolution and expansiveness of the metaverse.

Note to self: metaverse is the buzzword du jour in tech. Also note to self: Meta is short for Meta Platforms, Inc.

What is the metaverse, you might ask?!? In my words, it’s the new virtual community that connects online, offline, virtual, AI … boom, boom, boom.

So by the Facebook company taking on Meta, the company is essentially saying that it’ll dominate the universe. At least to me it seems that way. Are they bringing an entirely new era to us?
