It’s not unusual to see iconic public features lit up to celebrate an event. The Empire State Building in New York City is constantly changing its lighting scheme on a regular basis. Witness 4th of July or Pride Month or the holiday season in December.

But it is unusual to be in the midst of a pandemic and a global lockdown. With frontline workers out there trying to keep us healthy and safe.

So I for one took unusual notice when iconic features and buildings around the world were lit up blue to celebrate and thank all of the frontline healthcare workers fighting COVID-19. Thank you #LightUpBlue!

Even in little Palm Springs, CA where I am currently sheltering in place, our iconic tram light at the top of the iconic mountain was lit blue to honor. Made me feel proud!
