I’ve been highlighting holiday messaging from retail brands the likes of Coca-Cola, Disney, John Lewis & Partners, McDonald’s, and Kohl’s. Massive brands with lots of feel-good messaging.

I thought it might be interesting to see something from a big brand in the luxury fashion space … always good to learn from all ends of the spectrum from mass to prestige to luxury. Here’s the new holiday gift guide from Gucci, this year’s installment of the brand’s annual event meant to spark fashion trends and creativity. The creative inspiration is something that I always look for …

1994! Loved how the brand took elements of the by-gone office era and mixed it with current product. A bit retro. A bit progressive. A bit inspirational. A bit aspirational. A whole lot of creative all along the way.

I needed this this year, our pandemic office-less year! Gucci often supplements with a hard copy catalog or more of a coffee-table book that comes along with the video … wondering if we will see that this year. I hope!

What can we learn from this? PUSH IT! Push boundaries. Get noticed. Set the standards. Be creative!

Can you do that with your brand? What’s your experience? JIM
