McDonald's Holiday Advert "Forever Young" #MusicMonday

It’s the holiday advert season … especially with many brands coming out of the UK. I have to say that the entry from McDonald’s is amazing … voted one of the best in my class at NYU last week. Here it is:

The beautifully done film is the latest in the brand’s annual holiday campaign #ReindeerReady, so the continuity from year to year is part of the appeal. For me, this year’s version is the best so far partly because of the song from Becky Hill with her cover of “Forever Young.” She did an amazing job with the song, and it fits perfectly with the theme of the spot.

The original song was from Alphaville in 1984 when I was in college. We wanted to be “Forever Young” as we were approaching graduation. The song had a lot of meaning for me then, and it does even more so now with my kids grown and in their twenties. I still want to be “Forever Young,” and I want them to be too.

This song not to be confused by “Forever Young” from Rod Stewart a few years later:

Love that one too! And then there is the classic one from Bob Dylan many many years prior:

“May all your wishes come true.”
