Olympic Speed Marketing



If there's one brand that gets the gold medal this summer, it has to be Kellogg's.  For speed marketing.

Literally the day after Gabby Douglas won the gold medal in gymnastics, she was appearing on The Today Show with a box of Kellogg's Corn Flakes in her hands with her picture on it.  Now that takes some pretty serious brand planning and scenario mapping.  What if she hadn't won?

Gotta love it.  A long time cereal and Olympics tradition, played out in lightening speed for instant gratification.

I do have to make one other mention about Gabby.  There was so much "ado" about her hair, it almost overshadowed her Olympics performance, particularly in social media.  So in honor of Gabby, I'd like to re-post one of my favorite video moments that I wrote about some time ago.  It's a Sesame Street video that just about says it all.  "I Love My Hair!"   Enjoy!!  And congratulations, Gabby!
