Tyson’s NFL Chicken Nuggets - Fandom!

Source: Tyson’s

Football Season is upon us in the U.S. and that means fan gatherings with like-minded other fans, friends, and family at home, at tailgate parties, and in stadiums. And just like everyone has their favorite team, everyone also has their favorite game-day food.

To capitalize on the specific fandom for chicken nuggets on game-day, Tyson’s brand is connecting directly with team fans by creating spirited versions of their chicken nuggets with NFL team branded packaging/themes, shapes, and in some cases flavors. To my count, there are five varieties, with potentially more to come:

  • Denver Broncos: Nuggets shaped like the team's classic horse-head logo, with "Broncos Country" packaging.

  • Green Bay Packers: Cheesy, football-shaped nuggets with cheese mixed into the chicken, featuring the slogan "Go Pack Go!".

  • Philadelphia Eagles: Eagles logo-shaped nuggets with packaging that says "Fly Eagles Fly!".

  • Dallas Cowboys: Star-shaped nuggets with "How 'Bout Them Cowboys!" packaging.

  • Kansas City Chiefs: Arrowhead-shaped nuggets.

So smart to tap into professional football culture and to connect with the communities who live it every week in their homes, sometimes multiple times in the week. These products also give the brand the opportunity to tie into local media and that fandom as well.

The products are available at each team’s stadiums and at local retailers in the home cities. Also smart distribution strategy to tie right to commerce at the local level as well. All in!

If a brand is an experience, this is on the right track!
