My Favorite Blog Posts of 2025

I just love a year-end countdown. It's a nice walk down memory lane for the year, although I'm not sure I'd count this year as full of very many great memories to be honest. But we can still learn!

Last week I wrote out my list of the biggest marketing moments, from #10 to #1.

Today, I'm featuring my favorite blog posts of 2025. It was a year of one great loss after another, yet I still found myself continually looking for inspiration and motivation in the loss. Perhaps a coping mechanism or my quest to always keep learning. Perhaps both.

Either way, here's what moved me most to write this year …

#10: Turning Broken Plates Into Art … our own version of turning lemons into lemonade, a personal turnaround situation that we used as inspiration for the rest of the year. Sometimes the most powerful moments come from accepting what broke and finding innovative ways to put the pieces back together.

#9: Carrie Bradshaw “On Her Own” … the television show “And Just Like That" felt like it came to an abrupt halt this year, but not without what I would consider to be one of the most perfect endings ever. A fitting send-off to a beloved character who shaped culture over decades.

#8: Dolly Parton Loses Her Husband … and writes a song in tribute to all the support he's given her through the years. So touching, so motivating, so real. Lasting proof that love endures, even in loss.

#7: My Thank You to Diane Keaton … we lost yet another legend, and I have an unusual connection to her to which I owe much gratitude, from a movie and its soundtrack most don’t even know … “Looking for Mr. Goodbar.”

#6: “A Charlie Brown Christmas” Turns 60 … a true lesson in the perfection of imperfection and the need to sometimes just slow it all down. In a year that felt chaotic, this post examined why that show has endured for six decades.

#5: Public Changing Tables in Men’s Restrooms … what a surprise moment of joy to see years of work come to fruition, thanks to so many people and a few brands helping dads just be dads, taking care of their babies in real life and in real time.

#4: Donna Summer Posthumously Gets Inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame … a long overdue acknowledgment of her talent as a songwriter, not just a singer. This post celebrates a very personal meaning because it’s about how Donna taught me the art of storytelling and why that matters in everything I do.

#3: “Heated Rivalry” … we ended 2025 on a high note, giving us a respite from the year with some long overdue healing. Watching young people overcome their own barriers, find each other and themselves, and build an intimate relationship showed us what's possible when love wins. Just what we needed before starting a new year.

#2: In Tribute to Rob Reiner … the sudden loss of Rob Reiner and his wife reminded me of where many of my own values started. A profound thank you to the culture-shaping work of a true legend. By far my most-read blog post of the year.

#1: Thank You, Frank Gehry … Frank was a real career motivator for me, in an unexpected way. His work, monumental. His career, so impactful to so many. Right when I was beginning mine.

I try to find inspiration in life’s moments, the big and the small as well as the joyful and the challenging. And it is my small hope that you all find some inspiration in my writing about them.

As we look to put a cap on 2025 and all the lessons learned, let’s hope 2026 brings us all health and happiness, joy and success in our own way. With a few less challenges.

And with lots of new experiences to learn from too!

What’s your experience, what were your inspirations? JIM
