LEGO - “She Built That” Featuring Run D.M.C. #MusicMonday
Source: YouTube
In an effort to reverse gender stereotypes around “building,” LEGO created a Global Girls Crew to record an anthemic music video titled “She Built That” to show how girls can be great builders too.
The song and music video are inspired by a stat that LEGO uncovered in a survey where both boys and girls overwhelmingly said that “builders” were male construction workers. LEGO wants to broaden the perception of types of building and eliminate the gender bias.
“To everyone watching out there, there’s no stopping what we can build.”
The video features classic Hip Hop artists Run D.M.C. and is actually a reimagination of their 1983 hit “It’s Like That.” Here’s that song from back in the day:
Through this new music video from Global Girls Crew, LEGO hopes to inspire a new generation of girls to become builders and inventors of all kinds which is very consistent with the brand’s overall mission and brand equity. Building, creating, inventing … and uniting and motivating through music.
Well done. Bring it on!
