LEGO Education - “We Trust in Kids”

Maybe you already knew this, but I never knew LEGO had an entire B2B division serving educators.

Yes indeed, LEGO Education is a specialized division of The LEGO Group that develops hands-on, playful STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) learning solutions for K-8 classrooms, early learning centers, and after-school programs.

Talk about taking bricks out of the home and putting them on a mission!

As part of its marketing strategy, LEGO Education recently launched a documentary-style film called "We Trust in Kids" targeting educators, teachers, and parents.

The film casts a real teacher with real students, unscripted, talking about AI in the classroom. Then the students are asked to answer one of the most pressing questions in education right now: How do we use AI responsibly in the classroom?

This requires United Nations level thinking, served up to a classroom of ten to twelve year olds!

The students jumped right in and then broke into small groups to craft an AI policy for their school. Guess what, they nailed it.

I loved watching these kids in action. No corporate agenda, no skin in the game. Just a desire to figure out a problem that they themselves face on a daily basis. They solved it better than most adult policy committees!

I've always admired LEGO as a brand. But discovering LEGO Education changed how I see the company. The brand has always stood for creative play in my mind but now I also see that the play has an educational side as well. An institutional component that solves real issues for children at home and at school, arming teachers to do what they do best.

LEGO has children covered on both sides of their lives. That is very impressive.
