Lady Gaga understands the moment we are in …

For an upcoming Super Bowl teaser ad for the brands Rocket/Redfin, Lady Gaga is re-imagining the classic song “Won’t You Be My Neighbor” from the children’s show “Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood” from back in the day.

Here’s a behind the scenes look at the song in the making …

To my eye, Lady Gaga didn't pick the song for the Super Bowl because it's iconic or nostalgic. She picked it because she understands what we actually need right now.

Yes, the Super Bowl is truly a global stage. One day, one event where the world watches together and that’s huge. But Lady Gaga is tapping into something deeper because in this moment, with this country divided in ways that feel irreversible, the message can’t be about unity on a grand scale. It has to be about something more micro and more tangible and more real. Something that happens in our individual lives.

Something between neighbors.

In fact this is what we are seeing right now in cities around the U.S.: neighbors are showing up. Really showing up. Not for social media. Not for credit. Just showing up for each other. Protecting neighbors. Feeding them. Caring for them. Checking on them. Shielding them from harm. Neighbors of all types.

Something Mr. Rogers inherently carried with him as a core way of life.

"Won't You Be My Neighbor" isn't a song about being united above all else. It's a question about acceptance. It's a question about whether you'll choose to care for the person right next to you.

That's not entertainment. That's a call to action. It’s higher ground.

In a moment when it feels like everything is crumbling, Lady Gaga isn’t offering us a global spectacle. She’s offering us a reminder of what actually heals. Not big events or grand gestures. Not politicians or movements or slogans. Neighbors. Actual neighbors choosing to care.

That's longevity. That's how we survive. That's how we heal.

Thank you, Lady Gaga, for remembering what Mr. Rogers knew … the neighborhood is where life happens.

It’s a neighborly day in the beautywood.”

P.S. - Highly appropriate and on brand for these brands (Rocket/Redfin) to bring this song to life since they are ultimately about homeownership and being neighbors. Not sure how well know they are right now, so this will certainly amp up their awareness which is ultimately the point for the main stage. Can’t wait to see the final spot during the big game.
