180 Years of Loewe

How many years makes a legacy brand? 50? 100? How about 180 years. Now that's a legacy.
Loewe, the Madrid-founded fashion brand (pronounced Lew-A-Vey), just turned 180 years old. Interesting note that it was actually founded by a German craftsman, not a Spaniard. But the brand’s commitment to craft, well that has stayed Spanish in spirit ever since it humble beginning.
What inspires me about Loewe is that they've never wavered.
Craft. Creativity. Vision.
Same north star from day one. In an industry that lives and dies by trends, they've done something almost impossible … they've stayed themselves.
While Loewe is a top-tier luxury brand, but plenty of people don't know it. That's not a weakness. That's by design. The brand never chased the audience. The brand never bent to trends. Instead the brand built something for people who care about what Loewe cares about. That discipline has kept the relevant to its audience for 180 years.

It's nearly impossible to stay in business for 180 months in fashion, let alone 180 years. The only way I see it working is the Loewe way: Know who you are, stay true to it, stay connected to your people, and don't ever waver from it while you evolve through the years.
Can your brand do that? What’s your experience? JIM
