Source: Taste of Home
Seems like everywhere I turn around, I see a sign for Dubai Chocolate. At first I thought it was just chocolate from Dubai, but once I started seeing it pop up literally everywhere I started realizing that it must be more than just a chocolate bar.
So I researched and indulged. And wow, I get it. This article from “Taste of Home” will explain it, but then you have to try it too.
Part of my family is of Middle Eastern decent so I am already a phyllo dough fan … actually a fan of all Middle Eastern desserts which tend to have some sort of connection to phyllo.
There in lies the connection to Dubai Chocolate too. The rich chocolate is blended with phyllo and a pistachio cream for an incredibly unique flavor combination. It’s a wow, and I can see why it’s taking off.
It was originally created by a brand in Dubai called Fix Dessert Chocolatier by Sarah Hamouda in 2021. What an entrepreneur! Now brands like Lindt, Costco, and Trader’s Joe are making their own version. Seems like Dunkin’, Crumble Cookie, Starbucks, and other food chains are looking to incorporate the flavor as well. We are watching a trend taking off before our eyes.
Here’s some background if you are interested, it’s quite fascinating …
It’s amazing to see how an entrepreneurial idea takes off, spreads, and expands so quickly into new categories. A delicious idea is well worth spreading, that is for sure, and it shows how eager we all are for something new and innovative.
Good going, Sarah! I hope you are getting a cut of all of this!
What’s your experience? JIM
