Sarah Jessica Parker Tries on Google for Size

Source: Google

When I first saw the new video of Sarah Jessica Parker walking down a New York City street talking softly to herself about dressing up for the holidays, I thought for an instant there might be a bonus episode of “Just Like That!”

Too good to be true?!? Yes.

Instead, it was a bit of borrowed equity from Carrie Bradshaw for SJP to promote Google’s “Try It On” tool for holiday shopping and holiday party-going.

But it is still so good …

A little borrowed equity never hurt anyone; it’s called collaboration and this collab fits perfectly.

SJP and her character Carrie Bradshaw are known for their tastemaker signature style. One in the same. Google knows that so what better way then to channel that energy and show the tastemaker using the technology to try on some new fashion inspiration … for the holiday season.

Makes you want to try it on yourself. Exactly the point. Also keeps SJP visible and relevant as she moves beyond Carries Bradshaw. It’s a good bridge for her.

Some celebrity partnerships feel forced and feel like it might have been all about the money. Not this one, it doesn’t feel like a paycheck. It feels like perfect casting.

I’ll try it on. What’s your experience? JIM
