Ore-Ida x Fischer Limited-Edition French Fry Skis

Ore-Ida is giving skiers a little wink …

"Pizza to french fry."

If you're a skier, you know exactly what that means. It's the moment you progress from snowplow skiing (pizza) to parallel skiing (french fry). It's when you move beyond barely making it down the hill to owning that hill. It’s when you know this sport is for you.

It's the language of ski culture. Having grown up a skier, I speak the language, and I remember the moment like it was yesterday.

Now french fry brand Ore-Ida is speaking that language too.

Ore-Ida just partnered with Fischer Sports, one of the top ski brands, to create limited-edition french fry skis. When other brands offer consumers branded (somewhat ordinary) swag, Ore-Ida introduces actual top-notch skis with french fries on them. They are limited in supply so they are only available at a few top ski resorts in Oregon and Idaho during a couple big ski weekends, and on Amazon.

Brilliance.

Ore-Ida understands that french fries are woven into ski culture. They're what we eat between runs. They're our fuel and part of the ritual of skiing. The french fry itself? It's the symbol of progression and the moment you graduate from beginner to advanced.

Ore-Ida took that cultural insight and turned it into exclusivity.

By partnering with a top ski brand, releasing limited-edition skis at specific resorts during a specific timeframe, and making them available to a select group of people, Ore-Ida becomes a part of ski culture as a brand that gets the community.

That’s bigger than a bag of fries on a tray. That's how you move from a package in the freezer section to community member on the slopes.

Ore-Ida just showed up to ski season and said, “we're not just feeding you, we are a part of your experience this weekend.”

A parallel path, let’s just say!

Can you do that with your brand too? Can you join your consumer’s community too? What's your experience? JIM
