IKEA Discovers “Sweden’s Sunniest Square Meter”

Source: IKEA

Yesterday, I celebrated a music-based campaign out of Sweden and today I’m going back to Sweden to celebrate one of my favorite brands. A brand that I worked on many years ago, one of my most rewarding to date.

IKEA. Founded in Sweden in 1943.

To promote their new outdoor furniture line, the brand decided to honor something that the Swedish people honor … the sun. So it found the most sunny spot in the country and built a little monument there and called it “Sweden’s Sunniest Square Meter.”

I’m not only impressed that the brand came up with this concept, but the amount of research that went into actually discovering this little patch of land is quite amazing. And to then turn it into a campaign to promote a new furniture line to enjoy the sun is just so creative.
