Flynas Air “Find My View” - An AI Benefit We’ve Not Seen Before in Travel
Source: Flynas
The applications of AI technology in design, creativity, and marketing are just starting to take shape. What's fascinating is watching the benefits pop up in places you'd never expect, solving “problems” you never knew you had.
Take Flynas Air in Saudi Arabia.
The brand created a feature called "Find My View" where passengers enter their flight information online to choose the best window seat based on the flight route, direction, and time of day. AI predicts what you'll actually see from that seat such as a sunset, a famous landmark, a coastline, a cityscape, or a mountain range.
That's it. Simple, practical and exactly what travelers need. But I’m not sure we ever said out loud before that we need it!
The fascinating part is that you’d expect this kind of innovation from the market leader. But Flynas is the low-cost player in the market where the brand plays on cheaper tickets, not necessarily innovation.
But it’s hard to compete just on price, so you’ve got to add value some place else. You have to offer something your competitors can't.
So Flynas in this case found something no consumer ever thought an airline could give them by taking the uncertainty out of the window seat experience.
No more wondering if you'll spend six hours staring at an engine, or a wing, or miles of ocean with nothing to see. No more luck of the draw.
If a brand is an experience, like I always say, then Flynas just expanded theirs in a way nobody saw coming.
As a result, sales have been consistently trending up with the airline as the fastest growing in the Middle East. Top ten low-cost airline in the world.
All because they used AI to add value to the travel experience.
So here's my question for your brand: What's the simple problem your customer has that nobody's solving yet? What's the uncertain part of their experience that you could make predictable?
What's your experience? JIM
