Don’t Do NYC Dirty #FeelingFriday

“Trash Your Trash …”

Full disclosure: I’m a New Yorker. Born and raised in Upstate New York (Syracuse), went to college in Upstate New York (Cornell University), and have spend my entire adult life in and around New York City which started with Graduate School (Columbia University). After grad school, have worked my entire life with New York area based organizations (J&J, Saatchi & Saatchi, WPP, Omnicom).

At this point in my life, I would now consider myself a tried and true New Yorker. Been there, doing that.

So I am one of the 83% quoted in this survey from the Sanitation Foundation who say that we love our city. I love New York City. What is the Sanitation Foundation you might ask?!? Here goes:

“The Sanitation Foundation is the official nonprofit partner of the NYC Department of Sanitation (DSNY) and supports the work of DSNY to clean up the city and reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills.

Our mission is to inspire every New Yorker to recognize the role they play in keeping the city clean and empower them to take action towards waste reduction. By combining educational initiatives with hands-on experiences, we are building a citywide culture that embraces sustainability and cleanliness.”

Not only do I love New York City, but I love what the Sanitation Foundation is doing to keep our city clean. Here’s their new campaign, showcasing how the organization is bringing New Yorkers into their efforts to do their part in true New York style, their own style.

I just love how the campaign shows real New Yorkers in real life talking about their love for their city. I can feel it. And I agree!

Sanitation Foundation and all those who support it, I salute you. I share your mission. I share your love. I see you!
