The Betty White Forever Stamp from the USPS
Source: USPS
You know you’ve made it when you’ve made it on a postage stamp!
The United States Postal Service recently launched a new Forever Stamp featuring the iconic entertainer Betty White who (recently) passed away at the age of 99.
Betty was not only an incredible comedic actress, she was an animal rights activist, so it was befitting that the stamp was launched at the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens (LA is her home town). The artist who created the stamp even included paw print earrings in the rendering of Betty!
Betty White had, and still has, a signature brand that was beloved from her television shows and many appearances through the decades. Her wit, charm, and comedic timing is unmatched to this day which makes her one of a kind … a one-of-a-kind entertainment brand. I am so happy to see her remembered forever on a Forever Stamp.
Betty joins a long list of celebrities who have been “stamped,” such as Lucille Ball, Charlie Chaplin, and Jimi Hendrix, just to name three.
Let’s be honest, this is a smart move from the USPS. Stamps are not necessarily top of mind for consumers, so making this icon the face of that brand is brilliant for not only folks still using stamps but also for collectors (yes they are still out there!). Betty is pushing stamps back into the news and into relevant culture once again. You go Betty!
Betty White forever!
